Later, about 1.45 pm, we hike to the main port and descend some 500 steps down to the dock. At 2.30pm we depart to continue our journey to the Luquina community on the Chucuito Peninsula. There, we are welcomed by the friendly inhabitants and accommodated in a local family home stay. Take some time to learn about the local culture and in the late afternoon there is an optional hike to the top of a nearby hill for an unforgettable Titicaca sunset. After dinner enjoy a small celebration with traditional music and dances. Overnight at the Home stay; It has basic but comfortable facilities, good matresst , blankets & sheets, private toilet.
Have breakfast at your home stay then we farewell our local host family and travel by motorboat to the reed banks at the Lake Titicaca National Reserve. There, we will visit two different floating islands; man-made platforms built with totora reeds.
