This full-day excursion takes you to two of the most iconic destinations on Lake Titicaca: the floating Uros Islands and Taquile Island. On Taquile, you’ll experience the rich traditions and community life of an indigenous society that has preserved its ancestral customs and social organization for centuries. This tour is perfect for travelers seeking culture, stunning landscapes, and authenticity on a budget.

Aboard a comfortable motorboat, you will first visit the famous Uros floating islands, where locals live atop handmade reed platforms. Then, you’ll continue across the lake to Taquile Island, where you’ll hike through scenic trails, enjoy panoramic views, and learn about the island’s renowned textile art, declared Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.

An excellent one-day tour for those who want to make the most out of their time in Puno and Lake Titicaca.

Itinerary

Taquile Island & Uros Floating Islands – Full Day

07:00 AM – Pick-up from your hotel in Puno and transfer to the port.
07:30 AM – Departure by motorboat (11 km/h) toward the Uros Floating Islands. Visit one or two islands and learn about their unique way of life. Optional reed boat rides are available (paid directly to local boatmen).
Continue by boat across Lake Titicaca toward Taquile Island, enjoying the stunning Andean landscapes along the way.
Upon arrival, walk uphill for about 45 minutes to reach the village center and visit the communal square.
Learn about the unique traditions of the Taquileños, especially their textile artistry, considered among the finest in the Andes.
Time for lunch at a local family-run restaurant (not included).
In the afternoon, descend to the port and return to Puno.
15:30 – 16:00 PM – Arrival at Puno port and transfer back to your hotel.
