Option 1: Itinerary from Cusco to Puno
Day 1: Cusco – Andahuaylillas – Palcoyo Rainbow Mountain – Raqchi
- 06:30 AM – Departure from Cusco: Meet your guide at the hotel to begin this extraordinary journey as we drive south toward the South Valley.
- 08:00 AM – Visit Andahuaylillas Church: Explore the stunning colonial art masterpieces hidden inside this famous church, known as the “Sistine Chapel of the Americas.”
- 08:45 AM – Scenic Drive to Palcoyo: Embark on a scenic 3-hour drive, taking a side road that gradually ascends into increasingly dramatic and spectacular Andean landscapes.
- 11:30 AM – Palcoyo Rainbow Mountain: Begin a gentle 30-minute walk toward one of the region’s most magnificent rainbow mountains. Enjoy a colorful panorama set among majestic geological formations. After a 1.5-hour visit, return to the bus.
- 02:00 PM – Lunch in Checacupe: Stop for a delicious buffet lunch to recharge after the morning’s exploration.
- 04:30 PM – Exploration of Raqchi: Visit the Great Temple of Raqchi, dedicated to Wiracocha. Renowned for containing the tallest known Inca structure, this archaeological complex features the fascinating remains of an entire ancient Inca citadel.
- 05:45 PM – Homestay Welcome & Cultural Workshop: Meet local families in Raqch’i and take a short walk to your homestay. Before settling in, participate in a traditional pottery workshop hosted by your local community guides.

- 08:30 AM – Pallay Punchu Rainbow Mountain: Arrive to explore the stunning Pallay Punchu Rainbow Mountain. The imposing 360-degree landscapes will fulfill any portrait. Enjoy a 1-hour ascent to the panoramic spots before returning to the bus.
- 12:00 PM – Lunch in Ayaviri: Traditional lunch at a local restaurant (try roasted lamb if you are not vegetarian) before continuing our journey.
- 01:45 PM – Visit Tinajani Canyon: An extraordinary geological area where massive stone towers can be observed on both sides of a dramatic canyon.
