Day 1: Umayo Lagoon, Sillustani Burial Towers, Cheese & Wine
08:30 AM – Scenic Overland Transfer & Paddle Boat Crossing
Overland transport to a small community on the shores of the Umayo Lagoon. From there, we begin a scenic paddle boat ride toward Umayo Island, where we can spot wild vicuñas (a native South American camelid). Next, we head to the Sillustani Peninsula, where we will stop at an ideal spot to enjoy a premium “Cheese & Wine” experience while taking in spectacular views.
11:30 AM – Guided Archaeological Walk & Quechua Homestead Visit
Our expert guide will lead you through the Sillustani archaeological complex. Here, you will learn about the extraordinary architecture and the massive burial towers (chullpas) of pre-Inca elites that dot the mesa. Afterward, we return by private transport to Puno or continue to the Juliaca airport, making a stop at a traditional Quechua house along the way.
02:30 PM (Approx.) – Arrival in Puno or Juliaca Airport
Arrival at Juliaca Airport (JUL) for your outbound flight or drop-off at your central hotel in Puno City.
